Homelessness and Health in US
For Step #3, you will undertake cross-cultural research on the topic. Now, that you have some information on your health topic, what might other cultures or communities have to teach you about this topic?
Each individual needs to find ONE quality, cross-cultural or comparative source about the health topic. It can be any media–an article, website, video, or account.
For example, I am studying anxiety among students in the U.S. First, I gathered some of the national college data on anxiety and explored some reasons why. Now, I will look at any other cultures or communities and if they have anxiety and how they deal with it.
As a second example, I am studying obesity in the U.S. First, I gathered national data on rates and reasons and looked at some of the contributing reasons. Now, I will look at other cultures and see if obesity exists, where and why.
You have to submit your source along with 1/2 page single-spaced or 1 page double-spaced addressing the following questions:
1) What are the main findings/points of the source?
2) Where did you find this source and what do you think about its quality, legitimacy and value?
3) How does this cross-cultural or comparative source add to your knowledge on this topic? What does it teach you or show you that you didn’t already know?
