Power is the ability or authority to influence people and get the desired results. So, power is the mean to do something and achieve the objectives. People acquire power through the position, profile and the followship of people. For example, a student, today is the member of the student union. Then, he is the follower without any power. But, later on he becomes the president of the student’s union. Now, he acquires power because he has the position of the president of the students’ union. On a similar note, manager in the organization exerts power upon his subordinates. It comes from the position of manager and a well-defined hierarchy in the organization.
Best kind of power is to bring prosperity, harmony and equality by applying authority in the most sensible way. It helps to achieve the overall objective of the societal development. A political minister applies his power to draft plans and policies that are approved to build roads, schools and hospitals.

If power is associated with the position, it will relinquish after sometime. A true power is built when people start following your philosophies and approach of work. It always goes with the person. For example, a spiritual leader has a mass support and fan following across the world. It does not come from any position. It is the trust & faith that drives people behind the spiritual leader. Such methods will preserve power for forever.

It influences their own behavior. So, to ensure that the message goes through, it is important for me to make people believe in my ideas, trust my intentions and keep faith in my efforts. People will get the message correctly.
