As a follower of the Quality/ Operations field, I’d follow the rules laid down for the process. I’d ensure that the daily work abides by the Standard Operating Procedure that has been created by experts over a period of time, ensure that every co-worker follows the same. I’ll see to it that I am inspecting all the components as per the frequency and that I take necessary action or inform the concerned person when the process moves out of its control limit. Provide training and proper guidance to my co-worker. I should take every step to align with the organizational goal.
In a leadership role, my first and foremost focus would be to assign responsibility to my peers and subordinates, so that at the end of the period we all converge to the same organizational goal. I’ll arrange for training for all the employees, so that they understand and adhere to the universally accepted process. I’ll encourage the employees to follow policies such as ‘No Fault Forward Policy’, TPM and other set processes. I wouldn’t encourage any unethical processes, that may impact the organization or affect its customers and see to it that no process is bypassed. On the contrary I’d reward those who emerge to be the best follower of policies.
