1)The PRISM program being guided and taken care by National Security Agency was established to identify the potential terrorist before they make their first move or could harm the citizens and integrity of The Nation.NSA used to collect bits of information via emails ,phone calls ,search quires ,social network postings and web communications being taken over the digital spectrum of United Nations ,these bit pieces of information were given by the huge data collecting technological giants like Google ,Microsoft ,Twitter ,Facebook and Yahoo and even by telecommunications service providers like as Verizon. These information were not examined initially but they were converted into metadata ,and then these metadata were used to construct social graphs that produce suspicious patterns of communications, which can be used to identify the threats efficiently.
the ethical dilemma this case highlights is that the personal information of the citizens which are sensitive in nature are extracted by the countries own government ,what happens if this information is transferred into the wrong and unjustified hands thus here it becomes the personal priority vs nations priority.
2)The information technology here plays and crucial role in creating the Dilemma because the technology one hand is very useful to the Homeland security as a tool to identify the threats but on the other hand the information being collected by NSA has very detailed and accurate personal information the privacy implications are proven to be extreme if misused.
3) To call Edward snowden ,A hero or even a traitor is not justified Edward brings us a harsh reality what Government authorities are up to these days while breaching the national security. While some people are very clear in their choice for those who worry about NSA intruding their personal information or encroachment upon individual privacy snowden is a hero while Among those more concerned with national security and the need to protect the nation and its citizens from terrorist and other attacks, Snowden is a traitor.
4) The answer to this question lies whether Edward is a hero or a tratior. The NSA programs are approved and overseen by the secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. Although the programs were designed and approved to capture information about foreigners, millions of American citizens, most of them innocent of any traitorous acts, have had their information captured and analyzed.NSA intelligence-gathering operations have targeted many others who are easily identified as anyone other than terrorists including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and at least 35 other world leaders.
